The Steyr AUG HBAR, or the Armee-Universal-Gewehr Heavy Barreled Automatic Rifle, is a dark-beige Austrian Machine Gun built for the Commando.

The AUG HBAR is basically the AUG assault rifle fitted with a longer, heavier barrel. It has a smaller-than-average magazine for most machine guns, but makes up for this with it's very high accuracy of 80%. Its accuracy is increased by it's moderate fire rate, which conserves ammo and helps accuracy. It also has a good range. It is a powerful machine-gun. It's a great weapon for those who like assault rifles, but need to rank up their Commando.

Comes in a beige paint scheme with grey components, including the scope, the barrel and the magazine. A small grip is located at the front of the guarded pistol grip.

The First Blood is similar. It has a higher fire rate and magazine size, but is slightly weaker and inaccurate; it's high fire rate doesn't help accuracy either. Both are great weapons, despite their early unlock time. It's another choice that comes down to personal preference; fire rate, or accuracy. Keep in mind that with ammo feed, a popular Commando perk, the AUG's main weakness, it's mag size, becomes irrelevant. It's accuracy also stay stable for longer than the First Blood, even under prolonged automatic fire.

  • The HBAR is the Machine gun counterpart of the Steyr AUG.
  • Probably carries the Swarovski Scope, the scope model of the assault rifle counterpart.
