The Globex Leader

The Globex Leader (or GlobeX Leader, spelled as such in the second game) is an antagonist in the Strike Force Heroes series and the final boss in both Strike Force Heroes and Strike Force Heroes 2. He has very high health, and is fought on The Nuke (Dawn) in Strike Force Heroes and on his Mech in Strike Force Heroes 2.

Appearance

The Globex Leader himself is a fair skinned man with a black moustache and black hair. Like all other Globex soldiers, he has red eyes. He wears a combat suit with a black and red color scheme.

Profile

The leader of Globex is a mysterious man. Almost nothing is known about him, but he must be very powerful to possess weapons of mass destruction and his own personal military force. He may be involved in corrupt politics or other organizations.

Strike Force Heroes

He faces the Player in the last mission of the campaign. He is defeated, but refuses to cede. In a last ditch effort, he attempts to take the Player down with him, but the Player simply pulls a parachute cord and leaves the Globex Leader to die. However, unknown to the Alpha Squad, the Globex Leader had many clones, and the Alpha Squad player had only killed one of his clones. In the final cutscene, it is revealed that the Scientist talks to the real Globex Leader, saying, "I'm glad you survived".

Strike Force Heroes 2

After the events of Strike Force Heroes 1, the Globex Leader returns, although he is not physically seen until Mission 14: Cleanup. Unbeknownst to the player's squad, Dex had been recruited by the Globex Leader as an inside agent and betrayed the squad by assassinating West. In his first encounter, the Globex Leader appears in a giant mech, crushing Dex with a stomp. The Globex Leader remarked that he was a great pawn, but too expensive to keep around any longer. After Mission 14, the Globex Leader then walks the Mech to blast its way out of the building, and the player boards the top of the mech.

The Globex Leader then faces down the Player once more in Mission 15: Last Hope, this time in a duel. Partway through the battle, the Globex Leader reveals that only his clone was killed by the Alpha Squad, not himself. The Globex Leader calls down more of his clones to fight alongside him, but they are all ultimately defeated by the Player. In the cutscene following the battle, the Globex Leader is seen aiming a pistol at the Player. He remarks about how talkative the Player's squad is and how quiet the Player himself is in comparison. The Globex Leader then asks if the Player has any last words, to which the Player responds, "Yeah, I let my guns do the talking". The Player shoots the Globex Leader off of the Mech with a pistol, and the Globex Leader screams "Nooooo!!!" as he falls to the ground with an audible splat, leaving him presumably dead.

Strike Force Heroes 3

The Globex Leader's role in the Campaign as the main antagonist is taken by the Scientist who takes over Globex as of Strike Force Heroes 3.

However, he does appear briefly in a cutscene following the last mission in the game, Devs De La Muerte. When no leads to Globex have been found after killing the Mike and Justin clones, the Globex Leader approaches the Strike Force Heroes from the shadows via transmission, claiming that he might be able to help them. His motivations remain unclear. Due to previously demonstrating the ability to clone himself, it is unknown whether the Globex Leader in Strike Force Heroes 3 is the genuine article or just another clone.

Gameplay

Strike Force Heroes

The Globex Leader is a Commando who initially wields a Socom at the beginning, but his equipped weaponry changes multiple times throughout the battle. After being killed 5 times, he then equips a Desert Eagle. After being killed 10 times, he switches weapons to a Minigun. He also has the skill of Blur, and after being killed 10 times, gets a permanent Surge from then on until the end of match.

Long range weaponry is the key to defeating the Globex Leader. His entire arsenal is largely ineffective at longer ranges, especially his Minigun. Sniper rifles and Rocket Launchers do very well, but make sure to neutralize the Globex Leader's Blur before finishing him with your primary weapon. After triggering his Blur activation once, take advantage of Blur's cooldown and try to get in as many kills as you can before it comes online again.

When the Globex Leader says "Hahahahaha!" and gains permanent Surge, be very cautious as this is also when he swaps to a Minigun. Although nearly useless at long range, the Minigun can easily shred any unaware player at close range, especially with Surge active. Take care to keep your distance, as his AI will become aggressive and charge at you relentlessly if you damage him at a close enough range. Other than that, take positional advantage of the jets on the sides of the map and use Killstreaks like Bouncing Betty and Airstrike to potentially get a kill or two even when dead.

Strike Force Heroes 2

In Strike Force Heroes 2, he initially appears as a General wielding 500s and a Katana. After dying several times, he calls two clones to assist him (Preceeded by him saying "How about some help, brothers?"), one being a Sniper wielding a MK 14 and a Raffica, and the other being a Juggernaut who wields a Flamethrower and a Desert Eagle. The Juggernaut Clone has the Killstreak ability Combustion.

The Hunter Missiles and Death Laser from the Mech can prove to be real annoyances, and it only gets more chaotic once all three Globex Leaders are in the fight. Be prepared to take at least some damage from the Hunter Missiles, as it is nearly impossible to avoid all of them without reflecting them with a Katana. The Globex Leader clone with the MK 14 is the most dangerous one by far, as the increased vision range of Sniper rifles allows him to cover almost the entirety of the Mech's small battleground. The Globex Leader clone with the Flamethrower is the least threatening; just make sure not to get into his range.
